The bright side of it is however that Amsterdam now has great new sites to visit, both on land and water. The eastern docklands, with the islands 'Java', 'KNSM', 'Borneo' and 'Sporenburg', offer astonishing, playful and prize winning architecture, and are, with interior gardens, narrow canals and design shops worth a stroll; the boat will wait for your return.
